Right in the middle and not on the sidelines
KROMI South moves into new premises, growth in the region continues unabated
The KROMI Southern Branch is one of the company‘s very first locations. This is no wonder because the federal state of Baden-Württemberg not only has a remarkable density of successful, medium-sized companies, but is also home to many well-known machine manufacturers. As early as 2003 and in close cooperation with the machine tool manufacturer EMAG, KROMI founded a branch in the immediate vicinity of the parent plant in Eislingen. The aim was to offer the KROMI logistics solutions to EMAG customers as a special after-sales service. However, it quickly became apparent that the unique tool management concept in the area of tool supply with the ”all-round carefree“ package was also well received in other companies within the machine and tool industry.
The two-digit customer growth over the last three years was beyond the capacity of the premises, with the result that the offices and warehouse were soon bursting at the seams. In the spring of 2014, the KROMI team, which now had 13 members, moved into a new property in Wernau. Apart from the spaciousness of the new premises (150 m2 of office space and 300 m2 of warehouse area), the proximity to the motorway and to the B 10 federal trunk road was particularly important to branch manager Wolf-Dietrich Pilz. This is because the customers in southern Germany are distributed over a handsome radius of 250 km. Companies like Schuler, Bosch Mahle, Heller and MWM can be supplied from there with the usual high reliability and responsiveness. That also applies to the most distant customer, the company Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems and their site in Klagenfurt in Carinthia. A distance of 600 kilometres represents no problem either for the dedicated team working at KROMI South.
